A huge welcome to the FCRC website for mens’ Captain Aaron – this is his first blog post since taking up the role recently and we can’t wait to hear more from him over the course of the season. Thanks Aaron!
Firstly I have to say a massive thanks to all the Fareham Crusaders for making what is an excellent club to be part of and to run for. Secondly I’d like to thank Neil Smith & Debbie Taylor for leading the club last year to an amazingly successful season in the HRRL and for really promoting what all Crusaders are doing ‘out there’ on social media. Finally, big thanks to the FCRC committee members that believed Amanda Talbert and I had any idea, let alone the attributes, on leading the teams this year.
So what does this year have in store? Filth! There are 2 things that you will see me promoting this year and it comes from the 2 things that I think are excellent about running; Encouragement & Mud.
I aim, where possible, to use the phrase #fcrcgoodeffortson as often as possible to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the men in this club; whether it be PBs, overcoming adversity, achieving long distances, or picking up some decent bling, I’ll be adding this hashtag, so look out for it.
I also love mud so I want to see everyone getting filthy this year. Cathy Pittick is the person to watch out for with updates and travel plans for our XC races, so look out for news in our FCRC Facebook group throughout the winter. But it doesn’t stop there; I want to see evidence of all those Brutal Runs, Hell Runs, Spartan Runs, Tougher Mudders and any kind of trail run that attracts some filth to be posted online and shared with the rest of club. #fcrcprojectfilth is what I want to see attached to these images on any form of social media; plus don’t forget to join my #fcrcprojectfilth Facebook group where all muddy, filthy, dirty photos can be added for everyone’s enjoyment.
Have a great year running everyone, and be #unstoppable.
